Linda Porter’s Shear Genius Scholarship was established in 2013 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Shear Genius Salon.

The award will help graduating high school seniors and adults continuing education students from Dare County who plan to study arts, and especially cosmetology and/or esthetics.

Preference may be given to applicants with disabilities financial need, and/or a positive work history.

Applications for the scholarship are taken through Outer Banks Community Foundation

from the end of February till the end of March each year.
